is the next dot com bubble looming? big time. shit’s on fire y’all. but here’s an even hotter take: there are brilliant people doing brilliant things with AI, with very little splash. i’m not one of them mind you, but people.

there is also quite a lot of wank mediocrity out there, which can be both equally fun and illustrative. and also where i am brilliant. you better believe a PKM hates to see me coming, like most management. I digress.

if you’re too young to remember how the dot com bubble burst, you might be surprised at how few of the names you recognize emerged as victors. and i use the word victors intentionally, as this period of time was rather a blood bath. MSN, Yahoo, AOL? those are the big ones. hundreds of other giants left standing have since crumbled to dust.

then consider that that was approx the first 30 years of computing, and ChatGPT came out around 2023. will AI save the world? probably not! and certainly not without some hardcore land reforms 🙃 but Claude is one of several 3-year olds I know with an internet connection and partially-formed brain, and i’m not even sure it’s the smartest.

next month: a ‘very sick’ semantic map, with the “very sick” a direct quote from a geographer. set an alarm.
